When we last showed you the 2010 Sorento, heavy fabric camouflage covered most of the details of this new SUV. Now we've managed to catch this Kia roaming around the desert while hot weather testing with all the fabric camouflage gone! The all-new Sorento will be getting a bit larger, as well as adding a third-row seat, as it moves to Hyundai’s Santa Fe unitbody platform.

Powertrain-wise, the Sorento takes a more fuel efficient route and gets Hyundai's new Theta II 2.4L 4-cylinder motor with about 170 hp. A V6 model will also be available, using a 3.8-litre V6 good for around 275 hp. Both models should drop the current 5 speed transmission in favour of the new 6-speed found in the Veracruz.

The Sorento will be built alongside Kia’s Optima, at Kia’s new falicity in West Point, Georgia, USA.

I've also heard that this will be available with the new Hyundai V6 diesel.
