Porsche Cayman RS Spied on the Ring?

Last month we showed you a possible Porsche Boxster RS with big fixed wing in the rear. Now spies have caught a suspicious looking Cayman wearing the recently revealed Cayman S Sport trim package, modified front lip spoiler and fixed rear wing. Could this be a possible RS version of the Cayman?

Whether it’s really a RS version or not, our guess is that we have to wait until the Geneva Motor Show in March to get an answer. But it sure looks interesting, and we also believe that a lot of Porsche fans would love a hard core stripped out Cayman RS making 30 - 40 horsepower more than a Cayman S (295hp).

That's one notice colour. It'll be awesome to see a track-based Cayman. Way to go Porsche!

well that's boring haha :P everyone has a red, silver, white, or black porsche :P change it up a bit... like the lime green option for the GT3 :D

i dont really like that wing. and much as i hope it happens, it is unlikely that it would get that much power...it would start stealing serious sales from the 911.

jai_mav is right. I remember watching Top Gear and Clarkson was talking about how POrsche had to de-tune the Cayman because it was a much better handling and faster car than the Porsche flagship car, the 911. If Porsche brings this car out, it will probably be priced the same as a plain-jane 911. I doubt the 911 has anything to worry about. However, you tune one of these up properly, you are looking at a 911 killer on the track, no problem.

Would Porsche be shooting themselves in the foot on this car? Or are they setting up a new flagship car?

Is the RS going to be limited edition or mass production car?

I ain't sure, but if (I only said 'if') the GT3 RS is mass produced, there is no reason this shouldn't.

And this car ain't taking the sales off the standard 911. That's a Sport coupe you live with. the Cayman RS is a smaller and cheaper, version of the GT3. A Road-legal track based car. They got nothing in common. Almost nothing.

Tuner_mad, how do you figure the GT3 RS is a mass produced car?
