The latest spy shots of the eagerly-awaited Audi TT-RS have surfaced, and the upgraded coupe looks more than ready to go after rivals like Porsche’s Cayman and BMW’s Z4 M Coupe. The range-topping TT-RS is expected to go on sale some time in mid-2009, and rumor has it that Audi’s new 3.0 liter V6 will be under the hood, featuring a supercharger and 340-350 horsepower.
What isn’t up for speculation is the aggressive look of the TT-RS, whose massive air intakes and new front spoiler are evident in these photos. The suspension seems to be lowered as well. Audi’s signature RS oval exhaust outlets are visible, as are larger wheels wrapped around larger brakes. The prototype in these photos appears to have ceramic composite brakes, but there’s no word as to if they’ll be standard or optional on the production car.

the Haldex can take 350hp with no problem, the max torque limit for the shafts in the coupling is 2700 Nm. Many MK1 TT's and R32's are daily driven with over 350hp.

kimbo where does it says Haldex AWD? Audi uses Torsen. If they use same system as new S4 this little car might be fun.

Audi A3 and TT are using haldex AWD since they are build on golf platform. Audis from A4 on are using torsen-c awd, except R8.

THe TT is a much better overall package than the Z4 could ever think about being. The Z4 is not even up to BMW standards let along Audi. THe TTS and TTrs will blow any z4m out of the cosmos with just its interior let along its prowess. So all you men with macho psycho issues go buy whatever car you need to fulfill your dysfunctions. I ll drive my TT and score al the girls. :Q

I've driven a TTS, SLK350, Z4 and Porsche Cayman S, in a group comparison test (about 50 people) for the TTS and eveyone who drove all the cars thought that the TTS was the best. It just does everything better, better style, better quality, better ergonomics, better brakes, better acceleration etc, etc, the vote was unanimous at the end. I can only begin to wonder what the TT RS will be like after the impression the TTS has left.

I must admit the MKII TT is starting to grow on me with the RS variant, but I still prefer the MKI looks, however, the internals of this one surpass the MK1.
But please, tone down those intakes, they are a little too square for the TT lines and protrude excessively.
I would still rather see a V5 twin turbo on this just to keep the front end lighter.

What ever happened to someone fighting in his class i.e. TTS Vs Z4M Vs SLK 55AMG. Would the TTS still win coz the last time i checked the TT3.2 was the equalvalent of the SLK 350 and Z4.

The TTS competes with the SLK 350, Z4 and Porsche Cayman. Check the prices for yourself. If it did compete with the AMG, M and Cayman S though where would that leave the TT RS? In a class of its own? No... all RS models are competitors to AMG and M products at every level of the model lineup, its a basic fact that any car enthusiast would know.

At last! The hair-dresser's wig finally comes off the TT's sharp crew cut with all guns blazing.
However, the gaping front air dams are at odds with the TT's smooth lines. But like the 996 911 Turbo and 360 Ferrari, they did grow on us with time didn't they?
